Asimo. In development for over a decade, Honda's bipedal robot Asimo can walk, climb stairs, recognize faces and objects, and carry your shopping home. Honda hasn't said when it might be available for sale, but there sure is a pent up demand. In a recent demonstration to a group of Japanese school children Asimo showed his ability to walk, run, and he even included a few dance numbers. Who wouldn't shell out a few thousand dollars for such a great little helper and friend. Hey Honda, we're waiting to buy.

The Tactical EOD Robot. Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) is not the safest of occupations. For decades now, bomb squaders around the country have implemented an EOD Robot of one sort or another. The machine is very much like an amped up R/C car. The operator controls all the movements via an attached control cable or wireless link. Video cameras allow the operator see what he or she is doing with the manipulator arm(s) while at a safe distance.
