The D-Link DSM-320RD ($199 at Amazon.com) Wireless Media Player is a must have product for anyone who enjoys digital media on their PC. Attach this one box to your television and/or home stereo and you have instant access to all your media files (movies, music and photos) on your PC. Download the latest movie or TV show and play it or your TV--no more burning discs. The D-Link DSM-320RD can operate up to 54 Mbps via 802.11g on a wireless LAN. The built-in DVD player and card reader makes this a truly all-in-one solution. While the Wi-Fi connection is most convenient, you can plug your ethernet cable into the unit.
Sony PRS-505 Book Reader ($299 msrp.) This second generation E-Ink Book Reader is significant improvement over the original PRS-500, which proved to the world that an E-Ink system was a feasible technology. This new model has 192 MB of on board RAM which can be expanded with a memory card. Perhaps the two biggest improvements is the ability for the unit to act like a USB mass storage device (the old are required special software to download books) and the new control interface. A basic four direction thumb joystick on the left controls most functions, and the page turn control is an the right hand side now. A big benefit with the Sony system is the ability to download and view ASCII (including .TXT and source code) and PDF files. Overall, the ability to carry around a large number of documents that can be easily displayed and read with this new reader makes it worth every penny.
